Shannon Weidekamp

Shannon Weidekamp is the CEO of Equus Flight Academy, Unbridled Air, and Equus Technology Academy. With a Bachelor of Science in Management and Leadership, she’s driven by a passion for education and creating opportunities in aviation for marginalized groups.
Shannon began her career in education, becoming a Montessori teacher and later an instructor with the Protocol School of Washington. Her aviation journey started as a corporate flight attendant, when she gained expertise and leadership roles, including chairing the National Business Aviation Association’s Flight Attendant/Flight Technician Committee. She also developed the first Flight Attendant upset training program and contributed to aviation standards through the ASTM F46 Aerospace Personnel Committee.
As an entrepreneur, Shannon co-acquired a flight school and purchased a 135 Air Carrier, and she serves on the Women in Aviation International board. She was appointed U.S. Delegate to the FAI Education Commission in 2024. Beyond her professional work, Shannon volunteers with literacy, childhood cancer, and medical research organizations. She is a dedicated mother of two sons, who share her aviation passion. Shannon’s career is marked by leadership, innovation, and a strong commitment to both aviation and education.
