Women in Leadership: A Program for Emerging Leaders
Rising women leaders in the aviation and aerospace industry are encouraged to apply to attend Women in Leadership: A Program for Emerging Leaders, a three-day, on-campus professional development program hosted by Women in Aviation International (WAI) and conducted by Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education. The on-campus dates are May 7–9, 2024, at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. A fourth day of training will be held virtually in mid-June 2024. Exact date TBD.
This intensive leadership professional development education program is based on a curriculum offered through Harvard University's Women's Leadership Institute and is tailored to the unique challenges women face in the aviation and aerospace industry. Topics will include executive communication skills, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
WAI's goal is to help high-potential managers master core business concepts, build key leadership skills, and explore and develop their personal leadership style. The fourth day of the course will augment on-campus learning with a remote leadership coaching session. After the completion of the in-person course, Harvard faculty members will meet with participants to discuss how they have applied their newfound skills. Participants will earn a special certificate awarded by Harvard University's Division of Continuing Education to add to their professional resumes.
This program is ideal for high-performing women who are WAI members currently working in management positions with an interest in advancing their careers in leadership roles in the aviation and aerospace industry. Note, this program is not designed for entry-level nor executive-level women. The course is designed to give WAI members the skills needed to rise to the C-Suite. No more than 30 WAI members will be chosen to receive funding support that will include program fees, hotel, meals, and a stipend for airfare.
Applications for the 2024 cohort are now closed.
Remember, WAI scholarships and programs are open only to WAI members.
