Professional Bio
Mike Hall is President of the New York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA) and is co-Chair of the NYAMA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. NYAMA has over 13,000 members, representing all sectors the aviation industry in New York. Cumulatively, New York aviation provides nearly 500,000 jobs and $80B of annual economic impact statewide.
Mike is also President of PFA Consulting, a Leadership Services firm based in Ithaca, NY. His current consulting responsibilities include the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, Mission Readiness and The Wings of Eagles Discovery Center in Horseheads, NY.
Mike graduated from Cornell University in 1968 and was Commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Following pilot training, he flew fighter aircraft for nearly three decades, beginning in the F-106 and ending with the F-16. His many assignments included command of the 174th Tactical Fighter Wing, where he introduced the F-16 in the mission of Close Air Support and Theater Air Liaison Officer during the First Gulf War. His last assignment was to the State of New York, where he served Governor Mario Cuomo as military Chief of Staff and Commissioner of Disaster Preparedness. He retired as a Major General in 1995.
While in the Air Force, Mike completed a Masters in Systems Management from The University of Southern California.
Based on his strong advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion throughout his Air Force career, Mike was retained by the Department of Defense to conduct the Senior Executive Equal Opportunity Seminar, a requirement for all newly promoted Flag Officers and Senior SES employees of the Department.
As Director of the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, Mike has leveraged technology and an outstanding staff to make Ithaca a model of efficiency and reliability. A forty-million-dollar upgrade to the airport was completed in December 2019, when Ithaca became an International Airport.
