A long-time pilot, Darcy, joined the nonprofit California Capital Airshow team as Executive Director in 2008 landing in a career that combined her lifelong love of aviation with 20-years of experience in large-scale international event management.
Using the power and magic of flight, the annual mega-event, draws huge crowds to the Sacramento region, showcasing the thrills, chills and jaw-dropping excitement of the hottest aerial performers on earth, along with miles of jets, interactive displays, pyrotechnics, music, festival fare and more!
The Airshow's economic benefit to the community exceeds $7 million dollars annually and the majority of its programs and productions are run by an army of more than 1,000 dedicated volunteers. As one of the top 5 civilian Airshows in North America, the California Capital Airshow is a beacon for innovation, education, and hospitality for aviation event organizers across the globe.
But the nonprofit organization is more than an Airshow, their deep commitment to their mission-driven work including scholarships, internships, mentorship, and exciting STEM-based student programming is demonstrated throughout the year.
