Most days you’re the perfect model of leadership but then you’re in an interaction with someone and BAM! – you’re saying something that you later regret. You try to shake it off but you’re still wondering why you got hooked into responding emotionally, pushing too hard, nitpicking too much, or disagreeing too loudly. You know you could have handled it better, but it seemed your squirrel-mind took over your usually reasonable adult brain.
This session will provide you with the deeper insight needed to understand where self-sabotaging behaviors originate so that you can change them. Carlann will share the 10 most frequent patterns of overused strengths that derail otherwise successful leaders. You will identify the ability that got you noticed as a leader but when overused leads to perceptions of being impractical, uncaring, demanding, pessimistic, the know-it-all, condescending, egotistical or manipulative. You will also learn to notice your physical signs that you are getting ready to overreact and learn a few quick tips to bring your behavior back in balance before you say anything you will regret.
