Kelly Murphy, WAI 2397, has joined the WAI staff as Director of Communications and Editor-in-Chief of Aviation for Women magazine. Kelly has spent decades in the aviation industry from learning to fly at age 16; writing and editing a number of various aviation publications; to running an international woman-owned aviation public relations and marketing services company called Emerald Media. Her work has supported clients around the globe in all sectors of the industry including general aviation, business aviation, commercial airlines and manufacturers, as well as a number of aviation-related associations and foundations.

Most recently, Kelly has published the Regional Airline Association’s official publication Regional Horizons, and supported Flight Safety Foundation’s official magazine AeroSafety World. Kelly is the former editor of Professional Pilot magazine, Commuter/Regional Airline News and Water Flying magazine.
