Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) awarded more than $50,000 in training scholarships during its annual scholarship luncheon on November 18 during the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas.

Scholarship recipients announced at the luncheon include:

  • Audeen Bashita and Stephanie Morriss - each received a $5,000 Gulfstream scholarship to further their education, professional development or career advancement in corporate maintenance aviation technology. 
  • Ciara Peterson, WAI 41229 - a $22,000 CAE SimuFlite scholarship to attend Citation Jet 3 initial simulator training. 
  • Dawn Sharp - a $3,995 Susan C. Friedenberg Corporate Flight Attendant Training scholarship to attend a four-day training program.
  • Sue Rusk - a $1,122 MedAire scholarship for a two-day aviation medical course. 
  • Nicola Hubert, Adamo Spring, and Morgan Garlinge - each received a $3,000 Universal Weather and Aviation scholarship to be used toward earning their FAA dispatch license. 
  • Lauren Sherrick, WAI 16313 - a $3,000 Signature Flight Support Corporation Scholarship.
  • Sandra Jimeson - a $4,675 Aircare FACTS scholarship to attend a five-day initial or two-day recurrent emergency procedures trianing course. 
  • Rachel Borsa, WAI 45332 - a $1,700 for Air Training International training on international flight procedures.
  • Nadine Annika Meichsner and Kate Keogh - each received a $1,500 leadership scholarship sponsored by WCA and The Home Depot Aviation Department to assist in their professional development. 
  • Christine Zavodnik, WAI 49623 - a $2,000 Women in Corporate Aviation career scholarship sponsored by WCA and Johnson Controls Inc. to assist in her professional development. 
  • Christine Young - a $2,000 Women in Corporate Aviation career scholarship to assist in her professional development.

WCA and its sponsors also distributed $17,000 in training scholarships at the 2015 International Women in Aviation Conference, bringing the total scholarship fund for the year to $79,000. To apply for WCA scholarships to be presented at the 2016 International Women in Aviation Conference visit
