Kelly Murphy has joined the Women in Aviation International staff as director of communications and editor-in-chief of Aviation for Women. Kelly replaces Kelly Nelson who has returned to EAA as executive editor of EAA Publications.A WAI member since 1997, Kelly Murphy will assume her new duties on September 1, 2016.
Kelly Murphy has spent decades in the aviation industry, from learning to fly at age 16; writing and editing a number of aviation publications; to running an international women-owned aviation public relations and marketing services company. Her work has supported clients around the globe in all sectors of the industry including general aviation, business aviation, commercial airlines and aircraft manufacturers, as well as a number of aviation-related associations and foundations.
Most recently, Kelly has published the Regional Airline Association’s magazine Regional Horizons, and supported Flight Safety Foundation’s magazine AeroSafety World. Kelly is a former editor of Professional Pilot magazine, Commuter/Regional Airline News and Water Flying magazine.
