The Skyway Center at San Carlos (KSQL) has launched its annual scholarship, the Skyway Center Aviatrix Scholarship (SCAS) to promote and help fund the chosen career path of the next generation of aviatrix. SCAS is a $5,000 commitment by Skyway Center at San Carlos for an aspiring pilot, mechanic, or an existing pilot or mechanic seeking additional ratings. Funds will be paid directly to her flight school or A&P school of choice, and training must be completed within one year. The recipient will be chosen on a basis of merit, career aspirations and dedication, as well as contributions to her community. An essay of no less than 300-500 words describing how funds will be used, planned career path, financial need and other information the applicant feels is relevant should be submitted. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a California resident and actively employed in an aviation company or enrolled in a professional aviation degree program.
