Delta Air Lines would like to extend a 2019 summer internship (13 weeks) opportunity to a student currently enrolled in a baccalaureate degree in business management or industrial engineering. In addition to an internship position, the recipient will receive a trip to the 30th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference (includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and conference fee). Applicants must be full-time students at the junior or senior level with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. Lodging accommodations will not be provided for the duration of the 13-weeks internship. The business performance intern reports to the manager – business performance in the technical operations division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating presentations, process improvements, developing business plans, understand finance and our cost structure, coordination of meetings, and analyzing data and metrics. You will participate in and assist the management team in developing long-term and short-term goals. The student will also have the opportunity to work with both internal and external customers from all levels of management, and use FAA, OSHA, and EPA regulations and Delta policy requirements to assist the shops in meeting their production goals. The intern must practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. The skills/abilities should include knowledge of basic PC skills and Microsoft Office software suite, strong technical writing and oral communication skills, capable of working in a team environment to creatively solve technical issues, ability to complete assignments with minimum supervision, work in a team environment to creatively solve technical issues and implement change, and develop both strategic/tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being. Compensation is paid to intern based on the following guidelines: Junior $2,253 per month ($15/hour) - Completed at least 60 semester hours in college completed; Senior $2,947 per month ($17/hour) - Completed at least 90 semester hours in college completed. Note: Students must be currently enrolled in school to participate in the internship program.
