American Airlines will award a $5,000 educational scholarship to a qualified member of Women in Aviation. Applicants must have a high school diploma; willingness to develop skills that will lead to a career as a professional airline pilot; at least 18 years of age at the date of application; enrolled in a private pilot ground school course or have logged flight time with a certified flight instructor. The funds may be used for flight training such as private pilot, instrument, multi-engine, commercial, instructor, or ATP. Funds are not applicable toward a sport or recreational pilot certificate. In addition to WAI application requirements, candidates must also address the following questions: 1. How would this scholarship help you achieve your career goals. 2. Why did you apply for this scholarship. 3. How have you demonstrated your involvement with WAI.
