The Career Eagles Aviation Initiative, a partnership with the Ohio State University Center for Aviation Studies, the Knowlton Foundation, Youth Aviation Adventure, and the Experimental Aircraft Association, will award a $1,000 scholarship to a student with demonstrable commitment to furthering the aviation industry and who is currently enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program. Applicants must be in good standing with their academic institution and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. Funds will be disbursed to the recipient's school and must be used within 12 months of the award. Funds may not be applied to flight time.
In addition to all WAI requirements, applicants must include a college transcript and a detailed essay (500-1,000 words, typed and double-spaced) that addresses the following topics:
- A description of your career aspirations, and how they relate to aviation.
- What has been your greatest life challenge, and how has it enriched you?
- Why are you the most qualified candidate for the Career Eagles Aviation Scholarship?
In addition to the $1,000 scholarship, Career Eagles will cover the winner's cost of registration to the 2018 WAI Conference.
All applicants with a unique perspective, passion, or interest in the aviation industry are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students pursuing aviation interests outside of the pilot career track.
