Scholarships

Women in Aviation International is thrilled to offer additional 2021 Spring Scholarships in a variety of career pursuits thanks to a generous $250,000 grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foudation. Scholarships include funding to further members' interests in air traffic control, aviation maintenance, flight training, helicopter ratings, and space. New to this round of schoalrships are four scholarships, each worth $3,000 for WAI Chapter members outside of the United States, to be applied toward completion of an addidtional flight certificate.

Applications are due May 18, 2021, and winners will be notified by July 1, 2021, with funds disbursed by August 1, 2021. You must be an active WAI member to apply.

This scholarship is to be used for training for a multiengine rating. If the applicant is a full-time student enrolled in high school, an accredited flight program, or an accredited college or university, she/he must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale). Funds will be paid directly to your flight school and must be completed within one year of award.

This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who would like to earn a private pilot certificate. If the applicant is a full-time student enrolled in high school, an accredited flight program, or an accredited college or university, she/he must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale). Funds will be paid directly to your flight school and must be completed within one year of award.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a space flight career. Degree majors can include: aeronautical science, space studies, professional pilot, or similar degree areas. Applicants will be evaluated on academic standing, personal accomplishments, leadership skills, and future career aspirations. Applicants must meet all WAI scholarship requirements with a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale); and enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university aviation degree program.
