Why does WAI require 'cookies'?

What is a cookie?
Cookies are small data files written to your hard drive or memory. These data files contain information the site uses to track who you are as you navigate through the registration process. Browsers offer you the option to Warn Before Accepting Cookies. This is turned off by default. If you turn it on, you will get a dialog box telling you a cookie is being used. Simply accept the cookie to move on.

After activating 'cookies':

Internet Explorer 10(PC)

  1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  2. From Internet Options, select the Privacy tab.
  3. Click Advanced. If 'Override automatic cookie handling' is checked, make sure that 'First-party Cookies' is set to Accept. Click OK. Click OK again.
  4. Close and reopen your browser. You will no longer receive messages that warn you about accepting cookies.
Firefox (PC or MAC)
  1. From the Tools menu, select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac).
  2. Select the tab Privacy.
  3. Check Accept cookies.
Safari (PC or MAC)
  1. Have your browser window active.
  2. Open the menu Preferences.
  3. Click on the tab Security.
  4. Click on Only visited websites or Only from sites I visit.
