This is a unique reception that provides anyone who is a member and/or leader in their local WAI chapter with the opportunity to meet, socialize and get to know other WAI chapter members and leaders from all over the world.
Attendance at this event is by invitation only. Anyone who is registered to attend the annual WAI Conference AND is also listed as a chapter member will receive an invitation.

We'll be publishing a list of 40 minute interactive sessions to be held at the Membership Booth. These sessions will focus on subjects that will be helpful to chapter leaders and members. But don't expect to come for and be "presented to"...be ready to participate! Examples of Fast 40 sessions are: GIAD Lessons Learned; Fun and Successful Chapter Fundraisers; Engaging Chapter Activities; How and Why to Use the Chapter Continuity Tool; Growing Chapter Membership; Chapter Social Media Tools, and more! In the membership booth all during exhibit hours, various Chapters from all across the world will be featured in 1 hour increments to discuss their chapter, activities, members, fundraising efforts and more.

New for 2018, we'll be providing a focused Leadership Workshop led by Dr. Janette McMurtrie. Dr. McMurtrie is a pilot with American Airlines, and holds a PHD in psychology, with a focus on aviation professionals. This interactive session will discuss: what makes a good leader; different authority types; mastering communication skills; de-escalating conflicts & conflict resolution; managing emotions - yours & theirs, and more. This session will be very useful to chapter leaders as they navigate chapter management roles, and into other professional and personal scenarios.

In this interactive workshop, WAI chapter leaders and chapter members will improve upon skills and tools to brand your chapter, set yourselves apart from a competitive market in securing support. You will also learn the proper way to identify, cultivate, engage, steward and retain corporate partners, and plan your annual fundraising strategy. Participants will leave the workshop understanding the steps needed to create a solid Case for Support that encompasses your cause, programming and project to communicate in securing financial support. Lyndse will even walk participants through IRS rules and guidelines governing the nonprofit industry, specifically 501(c)3 entities.
