What WAI2026 attendees said about their Braindate experiences:
“My first Braindate experience was truly wonderful. It created a much more intimate and connected environment compared to traditional presentations...The conversations were incredibly valuable. We shared real experiences and realized we’re not alone in navigating challenges like microaggressions, perceptions about where women “belong,” and how to respond in those moments. It also sparked great ideas for future presentations and research. What stood out most was the depth of connection. In these smaller, more personal settings, you build relationships that last—when you follow up, people remember you. Braindate made networking feel authentic, supportive, and impactful."
”
“I included Braindate as part of my presentation because I knew from last year, folks would want to talk to us at the end but there wouldn’t be enough time. That’s why this year, I thought it would be a good idea to tell people to join us for a Braindate afterwards and it worked! Our Braindate sparked rich conversation with an international audience of women, who shared similar experiences around power dynamics and sexism in the industry. It created a genuine space for women to feel seen and to be heard.”
“One of the most valuable takeaways for me was learning about the different groups and resources available to support us. It opened my eyes to new ways of bringing people on board and building a stronger, more connected community. At the end of our Braindate we created a contact list between us so that we can continue to reach out and support one another! This Braindate has inspired me so much that I would love to incorporate a networking setup at the Girls in Aviation Day I organize in my community. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that left me feeling encouraged, connected, and motivated."
