A Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic (FIRC), sponsored by ASA, will be held in conjunction with the 20th Annual Women in Aviation Conference. The FAA-approved FIRC is to be held from 8 am to 5 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, February 25 and 26, 2009. The WAI Conference is February 26–28, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA.

Directed by John Teipen, 2005 Flight Instructor of the Year, a Master Flight Instructor and Master Ground Instructor, each of the 16 topics in the FIRC will be taught by a Master Flight Instructor. This FAA-approved FIRC is for flight instructors whose certificate expires in February, March or April 2009.

Participation in the FIRC is $159 for WAI members and $199 for non-members. Interested flight instructors may register by checking the FIRC box on WAI’s Conference registration page (https://www.wai.org/confreg/2009_start.cfm). Flight instructors may also print out the form and return it via mail or fax to WAI. Telephone registration is also available at (937) 839-4647.

The Conference concludes on Saturday evening, February 28 with WAI's traditional banquet where many scholarships are awarded and the 2009 group of Aviation Pioneers is inducted into WAI's Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame. The closing banquet is sponsored by UPS.
