Women in Aviation, International's 20th Anniversary Conference Atlanta ~ March 2009

In 2009, Women in Aviation, International (WAI) will hold its 20th anniversary conference in Atlanta announced WAI President Dr. Peggy Chabrian. She made the announcement at WAI's Connect breakfast for members held during this year's NBAA Convention.

The breakfast was held at the Atlanta Hyatt Regency, the same venue that will host the 2009 Conference. Brain Bolt of Delta Air Lines was present at the breakfast and said that Delta is looking forward to participating in the 2009 WAI conference and will host a tour of Delta Air Lines facilities. The Delta facility and Dobbins Air Force Base tours will be offered to attendees in addition to an exhibit hall combining a trade show and job fair, dozens of educational sessions, speakers and other social and networking events.

"Atlanta is a city rich in aviation history." said Dr. Chabrian. "We're looking forward to hosting our 20th anniversary Conference there."

2008 Conference Coming Up in San Diego

The 19th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference will be held from Thursday, March 13 through Saturday, March 15, 2008, in San Diego, California. This year's Conference will take place at Town & Country Resort.

With the theme of "California Dreamin'," participants in the 2008 WAI Conference will be immersed in the tactics and strategies necessary for successful aviation careers. More than 3,000 women and men from all segments of the aviation industry are expected to attend.

Among the confirmed speakers for the 2008 Conference are General Chuck Yeager, Aviation Pioneer; John and Martha King, King Schools; Peter Diamandis, Chairman/CEO, X Prize Foundation; Sherry Avery, FAA's Los Angeles District ATC Manager; RDML Robin Braun, Commanding Officer, Navy Air Logistics; Deborah Limb, Director of Payloads & Structures Engineering, Boeing; Henry Ogrodzinski, President, NASAO; and Jennifer Murray who circumnavigated the world in a Bell 407. Additional invited speakers include Cliff Roberston, Actor and Pilot and Barbara Morgan, Astronaut, Teacher in Space.
