FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tampa, Florida -- Three lucky women took a chance on a raffle for an airplane ride with aerobatic great Patty Wagstaff at the helm last week -- and the chance paid off big. The raffle, a fundraiser held by Cirrus Design, manufacturer of the SR-20 / SR-22 line of single- engine piston aircraft and Women in Aviation, International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating scholarship and leadership opportunities for women in aviation and aerospace, was held during the AOPA Expo last week in Tampa, Florida.
The winners, Nancee Pruett, from the FAA Office of Technology and Development, Brenda Dion, a pilot from Plant City, Florida, and Sandy Riley, a volunteer pilot with Angel Flight America, then engaged in spirited bidding orchestrated by Cirrus Director of Communications Kate Doughtrey, for the right front seat spot. Sandy Riley won the seat with a bid of $175, a donation that went straight into the Women in Aviation, International Endowment Fund.
The women flew that Thursday afternoon, and the weather couldn't have been better!
