16th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference Featuring Special Offer to Air Force Personnel
Daytona Beach, Florida- Participants of the 2005 Annual International Women in Aviation Conference will experience first-hand the importance of developing and strengthening strategic alliances as more than 3,000 women and men in the aviation industry join together to share their personal and professional experiences. The 16the Annual Conference: Achieving Individual and Industry Success through Strategic Alliances, will be held March 10-12, 2005 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
As a component of the MOU signed by WAI and the USAF in March, all Air Force personnel (active duty, reserve and guard) will be offered a complimentary one year membership when they register to attend the conference. Additionally, WAI will make the offer to all military personnel (active, reserve or guard). Individuals must indicate when they register that they are in the military on the line requesting Military Branch. Membership benefits include a subscription to Aviation for Women magazine, scholarship eligibility, chapter participation, discount programs and more.
Invited speakers for the three-day conference include Colleen Barrett, CEO, Southwest Airlines; USAF Captain Kim Black, B-1B Bomber Pilot; Chandy Clanton, airshow performer; Ellen Engleman Connors, chair, NTSB; Ralph Hood, aviation humorist and Gen. Chuck Yeager, aviation pioneer.
The Conference will also include a full array of speakers, a trade show with over 120 companies, job fair exhibit area, more than 40 educational seminars and numerous networking opportunities. In addition, an Aerospace Educators' Workshop, an FAA Aviation Maintenance Professional Renewal Course, an FAA Safety Course and, with help from the AOPA Air Safety Foundation, an AOPA Flight Instructor Renewal Clinic will also be offered. Women in Aviation International will also honor its annual Pioneer Hall of Fame inductees and Scholarship recipients.
