Women in Aviation, International Endowment Fund Tops $300,000 with Donation from UPS

Reno, NV—United Parcel Service wanted to ensure that its sponsorship at the 15th Annual Women in Aviation International Conference was truly “over the top.” To make that happen, the company contributed $25,000 to the Women in Aviation, International Scholarship Endowment Fund this morning at the organization’s annual Media Breakfast, held at the Reno Hilton in Reno, Nevada on Friday, March 12, 2004.

The Endowment Fund allows WAI to increase scholarship opportunities for its members. UPS is a Diamond Level sponsor and corporate member of Women in Aviation, International, representing the highest level of sponsorship for the organization.

Women in Aviation, International’s sponsors and corporate members are a major source of funding for scholarships that the organization awards at its International conference every year. At WAI’s closing banquet, more than $400,000 in scholarships and grants for flight and maintenance training, as well as academic study, will be awarded.

Women in Aviation, International is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to providing networking, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
