Women in Aviation, International Celebrates 15th Anniversary Conference
Daytona Beach, Florida—Women in Aviation, International has announced that the 15th Annual Women in Aviation International Conference will be held on March 11-13, 2004 in Reno, Nevada. Mark your calendars now for this great opportunity to see familiar faces, network and, if you are in the running, get that job!
The 2004 theme is Aviation's Changing Face: Celebrating 15 Years of Education and Promise and the organization intends to do just that by honoring a new crop of scholarship recipients and Pioneer Hall of Fame recipients. Pioneer Hall of Fame recipients are those women who have gone the extra mile for others and contributed to the success of all women in aviation and aerospace. Confirmed speakers for the event include FAA Administrator Marion Blakey, U.S. Representative to ICAO Ed Stimpson, Humorist Rod Machado and Motivational Speaker Donna Hartley. More than 36 Breakout Sessions encompass subjects as diverse as Writing for Aviation, Women in Aviation History and Airline Hiring Practices, to Careers in Corporate Aviation and Environmentally Sound Manufacturing and Shop Practices. In the days immediately preceding the conference Women in Aviation, International is sponsoring a Teacher Workshop, an FAA Aviation Maintenance Professional Renewal Course and, with help from the AOPA Air Safety Foundation, an AOPA Flight Instructor Renewal Clinic. There will be luncheons and a ceremonial banquet honoring both the Pioneer Hall of Fame inductees and 2004 Scholarship recipients.
Plan to join us next March at the Reno Hilton and be part of one of the largest gatherings of women aviation professionals in the world. Attendance is expected to exceed 3,000 and more than 200 exhibitors are anticipated. Whether you are looking for an exciting career in aviation and aerospace, or you are an employer looking for a qualified, diverse group of potential employees, you owe it to yourself to spend time at the Conference billed “the best positive energy in the business.” Join us to celebrate 15 years of inspiring women to move into aviation and aerospace careers through our networking, mentoring and scholarship programs.
Women in Aviation, International is a nonprofit 501(C) (3) organization dedicated to providing networking, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
