Women in Aviation and King Schools Team Up to Bring Risk Management to Members

Cincinnati, Ohio March 20, 2003 — Exhilarating. Challenging. Let’s face it: Flying is about as good as it gets. But as you know, there are inherent risks in aviation. A startling fact—85 percent of accidents are caused by pilots. The good news is that pilots can change this by practicing proper risk management.

Women in Aviation International (WAI) is proud to offer a members-only price on King Schools’ premiere, Practical Risk Management For Pilots, CD-ROM training course. This computer-based program is a fun and easy way to learn effective risk management skills. And Women in Aviation members are entitled to it for $39—a $10 discount. They need only to include their WAI membership number with their program orders.

In approximately an hour pilots learn why current risk management practices aren't working, how traits that make pilots successful can work against them, how to use easy acronyms in flight, and how to apply simple procedures to manage risk. AVEMCO Insurance is so convinced the King’s program is sound that the company promises pilots who purchase and view the course a five-percent discount on their aircraft insurance premiums.

Risk management is a science and it can be learned. The sooner pilots begin—the safer their precious cargo, their passengers, will become. The course is available for purchase by calling 800.854.1001 or at www.kingschools.com/flysafe. For more information or to schedule an interview, call 386.226.7996.
