14th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference Theme Announced

(Daytona Beach, FL) – The 14th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference, scheduled in Cincinnati, Ohio, March 20-22, 2003 will help celebrate the 100th anniversary of aviation. The conference theme is Celebration of Flight: Saluting the Past, Embracing the Future.

Invited speakers include: Space Shuttle Commander Eileen Collins; Businesswoman and co-owner of King Schools, Martha King; NTSB Board Chairman Marion Blakey; Airbus Industrie President Allan McArtor; Academy award winning actor and aviation enthusiast Cliff Robertson, and astronaut Neil Armstrong. In addition to our roster of speakers and more than 30 individual education sessions, WAI also awards numerous scholarships sponsored by industry to deserving members. Since its inception the organization has helped give away nearly $3,000,000 in scholarships. Once the awards are made, we will pay tribute to the 100 women who have made significant contributions to aviation history during the closing banquet on March 22. The success of these pathfinders has effected us all, making our routes to success in aviation that much easier.

The Conference, to be held at the Convention Center in Cincinnati, will offer a wide variety of educational, scholarship and networking opportunities, special events and exhibits. The educational program cover topics such as aviation safety, airline careers, aviation history, business and corporate flying, military opportunities, general aviation, maintenance, networking, problem solving, and starting your own business. In addition, there will be seminars offering advice on how to balance career and family.

Attendees will be able to gather information on aerospace companies, airlines, colleges and universities, the military, museums, publishers, aviation apparel businesses, plus much more in the Exhibit Hall.
