100 Women Who Made A Difference
(Daytona Beach, FL) Women in Aviation, International would like to take the Centennial year of flight and make it even more special. During the 14th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference, scheduled to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, March 20-22, 2003, we will pay tribute to 100 women who have made significant contributions to the first 100 years of aviation history. Our conference theme: Celebration of Flight: Saluting the Past, Embracing the Future, lets them know how much we respect them.
Some of the honorees, past and current, will include: Eileen Collins, Space Shuttle Commander; Martha King, co-owner of King Schools; Jeana Yeager, pilot on the Voyager around the world record breaking flight; and the WASP’s (Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII).
Those who want to see the big event need to plan to stay through the celebration
banquet at the end of the conference. Once we are finished awarding hundreds of
thousands of dollars in scholarship awards to several of today’s women in
aviation, we will take a look back in a spectacular show, and honor those who
made it possible. We plan to record the live event, so those who see it have a
chance to view it again or show it to others.
