Mary Ann Eiff

Mary Ann Eiff began her aviation interests in sixth grade with powered models. She found a restoration expert who was willing to help her learn to rebuild antique aircraft. Over the wing of the Wiley Post aircraft, she came to know her future husband, Gary Eiff, also a founding board member of Women in Aviation.

Eiff's current position involves teaching maintenance and engineering personnel at American Trans Air (ATA) in Indianapolis, Indiana. She holds a BS degree from Maryville College, Maryville, Tennessee and a MS degree in Adult Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She has worked in general aviation and in the airlines and has taught aircraft technician (A&P) classes at Purdue University.

Mary Ann has been active in the Ninety-Nines, Inc., Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, American Red Cross, Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), and Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). She serves National Intercollegiate Flying Activities (NIFA) as a judge. She is a founding member of the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM).

Recently Mary Ann and Gary Eiff were awarded the WAI Aviation Educators of the Year Award.

Mary Ann is a founding board member of WAI and serves as Scholarship Chair, administering awards worth over half a million dollars to nearly 100 deserving ladies in 2001.
