American Airlines DFW Operations Facility Tour 1

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is American’s largest hub, serving as a central gateway to American’s extensive domestic and international network. You will have the opportunity to tour American’s DFW Base and Line Maintenance facilities in the morning. After that, you will head to the airport for a luncheon and a show-and-tell with Capt. David Clark, manager of American’s Electronic Flight Bag program. You will also have the opportunity to see the new Bag Belt system in Terminal D, as well as the latest technology American uses in the tower and on the ramp to ensure a great customer experience. Lunch is included.

Cost: $25 for AFW Tour (non-refundable) or $35 for both the DFW Operations Facility and Flight Academy tours (non-refundable).

American Airlines Flight Academy Tour 2

Tour the pilot training facilities at American Airlines, center for all pilot training activities at American and American Eagle. The Flight Academy houses a total of 27 highly advanced cockpit simulators for training. Also located within the Flight Academy campus is SOC– the System Operations Control Center‚ which serves as the nerve center of American’s worldwide route network, including Flight Dispatch, Weight and Balance, Air Traffic Systems and more.

In addition, you will also tour the Flight Attendant training facility where approximately 16,000 Flight Attendants attend their annual emergency training. The Flight Academy offers Flight Attendant training approximately 18 days a month. Before attending training, the Flight Attendant is given material and requirements that must be successfully met before arriving. A Flight Attendant is expected to successfully simulate the evacuation of all aircrafts for which they hold a qualification.

The tour will conclude with a visit to the C.R. Smith Museum. Expect a large amount of walking and climbing stairs. Still cameras only and no children under the age of 12, please.
